Rockfish British Mackerel

Wonderfully fat Bay mackerel, steamed whole, skinned by hand and preserved in sunflower oil. A simple preparation that lets outstanding British fish do the talking.

Full-flavoured and rich without ever being overwhelming — steaming keeps the flesh moist while the sunflower oil lets the natural taste of the fish come through cleanly. Great mackerel needs very little done to it.

Eat on toast with horseradish or mustard, fold through a warm salad with pickled beetroot, or serve as a simple starter with crusty bread.
