La Rose Sardines in Olive Oil with Pickles

La Rose has one of the great backstories in tinned fish. Originally produced in Portugal by a Spanish cannery, the brand disappeared when production stopped in the late 1970s. In 2016, Ramirez — the oldest cannery in the world — revived it, commissioning a Porto design company to study and recreate the original packaging. The red border is inspired by 1950s ads. The fish is as good as it ever was.
