Ferrigno has been canning fish on the French Mediterranean coast for over seventy years, packing under the La Bonne Mer label from their cannery at Port Saint Louis du Rhône. This tin is named after Saint-Tropez — and it tastes exactly like the Riviera in summer.

Atlantic sardines in a sauce built on the staples of Provençal cooking: tomato, black olives, capers, peppers, garlic and aromatic herbs, brought together in extra virgin olive oil. The flavours are bold and sun-drenched, each element doing its job — the capers adding sharpness, the olives depth, the tomato sweetness, the herbs tying it together. A tin with more going on than most.

Serve straight from the tin with a cold glass of rosé and a fresh baguette — the most obvious choice, and the right one. Stir through spaghetti with a drizzle of extra olive oil and a handful of parsley. Spoon over toasted sourdough with a squeeze of lemon. Open it as part of a summer spread and let the sauce do the talking.
